What if they found the damn wepons stockpiles tomorrow? Would they change their minds?
If the NYT wants to make itself feel better it can do an expose on the Deufler Report and the wepons programs Saddam was keeping in storage. They can figure out how long it would have taken him to rebuild the stockpiles and then maybe they can lay off Miller.
I thought the MSM had disgraced itself over the past several years–we all know the litany of bad journalistic enterprises. But I stand amazed: this non-story has got the MSM parsing leaks of leaks of leaks OF OPINIONS for heaven’s sake. This is journalism aimed at the BOSWASH corridor alone, for I dont think anyone our in Grant knows or cares who Plame is or who Scooter Libby is.
The only bright spot in this whole farce I can see is that Mr. Fitzgerald seems to be running a thorough AND thoroughly controlled investigation without any communications/leaks/innuendos coming from his staff. And, as far as I can see the White House has had a strict hands off policy about the investigation.
When I first heard the phrase “the echo chamber that is the northeastern media” I had no idea that there was an actual physical echo chamber located on 43rd street in Manhattan.
There’s a sick pleasure in watching them self-destruct. Shades of Chronos. All the trouble they’ve heaped on themselves still won’t preclude them from their continual partisan lies dressed up as news though. Sad.
