One of the things that makes the Iranian mullahs a formidable adversary of freedom is that they are not stupid. Their invitation to Iranian born Elahe Mohtasham, a sometime represenative of the Nuclear Weapons Non-Proliferation and International Safeguards System in London, to view a nuclear facility in Esfahan was clearly not a whim and, despite her fluent Farsi, Ms. Mohstasham was undoubtedly shown what they wanted her to see and told what they wanted her to know.
Even so, her article in the London Times article makes fascinating reading. Here is a telling graph:
At the end I asked how much UF6 had been made at Esfahan. The latest information published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), whose inspectors visit every three to four weeks, showed that 40-45kg had been produced by last June.
“The IAEA has been informed that in October three tonnes of UF6 were made,” said one of the scientists.
The information was highly significant: it proved that Iran has the capacity to produce UF6 on an industrial scale. Would it be able to make enough to feed 50,000 centrifuges planned for the Natanz enrichment plant, I asked? “Yes,” came the reply.
Iran says it would need enriched uranium from 50,000 centrifuges to sustain a domestic nuclear power industry and sell nuclear fuel commercially abroad.
Three tons or 45 kilgrams? That’s a rather large discrepancy isn’t it? Oh, yes, I forgot – we’re taking about a UN agency here. Perhaps they should wear T-shirts… “Discrepancies R Us!”

We have to stop playing games with the theocratic nightmares. We can never forget that these religious maniacs think that they will go to heaven if they kill us. Lets not wait and find out if they really mean what they say, lets act on the assumption, based of passed actions they mean exactly what they say and act accordingly. No more 9/11′s thank you very much, lets just get it on.
Roger:
C’mon, cut those guys some slack. It is so easy to put the decimal point in the wrong position. Especially when you are in a hurry because you have front row seats at the “Producers”. They are only human!
The real work will be done outside the walls of the United Nations. Its bureaucrats are indifferent toward stopping genocide and illicit nuclear weapons build up. Donít they think their own countries are at risk? No, I suspect they have deceived themselves that the Iranian Mullahs are only angry at the United States. Itís not their problem.
The Bush administration should pay lip service to glory of the UN—and begin cooperating with our proven allies. John Boltonís nomination must be approved (and probably will be) by the US Senate. The enemies of America will celebrate if the fight is lost. The President will lose face in their eyes.
Morons.
That would be the same IAEA,which under the authority of Hans “I see no bombs” Blix gave a clean bill of health to Iraq’s nuclear weapons programme?
Since most of the UN seems to be up for sale,it is reasonable to presume that this agency accepts bids.
Well, what would you expect from an organization that sees thousands upon thousands murdered in the Sudan, and says ‘Genocide? What genocide?’
So the Iranians insist on playing with Fire…well, as long as they keep going down the “Cheat and Retreat” road they will find out what Fire is REALLY like.
I only hope and pray that it doesn’t cost the lives of millions….
Same goes for the Norks.
