A timely blog from Lebanon…

… called Across the Bay… recommended to me by several readers and definitely worth a look. Let’s hope it proves as timely as all those blogs from the Ukraine.

    Roger,

Thanks for helping us keep abreast of all these new international blogs.

Your concern for freedom and democracy around the world is encouraging.

As an American in Taiwan for the past 12 years it has been hard to know what’s really going on. Before the blogosphere, all I had to rely on was MSM news and analysis.

You should sue the other “Liberals” for dimunition of brand.

This comment thread at the Syria Comment blog makes for fascinating reading. I understand that those who post comments are self-selecting and are not necessarily reflective of any trends in the region but it does give one hope.

Things are starting to get interesting. Seems that next Monday the industrial, financial and commercial sectors are planning to shut down, conciding with an expected vote of no confidence. Looks to be a significant move – if you’ve got the money people lining up behind the opposition, that’s a sure sign of discontent.

I’ll have to see if I can get in touch with an acquaintance who is of Lebanese descent.

Actually,Roger, while Tony of “Across the Bay” is Lebanese, he’s currently living the Bay area, working on his Ph.D student. While this doesn’t diminish the quality of his posts, it’s important to note that he’s not blogging on the scene.
