Chesler Chronicles

My second study about honor killings was posted this week at Middle East Quarterly. The first study is here. The second study is a groundbreaking examination of 230 victims on five continents.

So far, the study has been picked up widely on the web, and I’ve been interviewed in the Hindustan Times (!) and the Edmonton Sun about honor killings. I was just interviewed by the most excellent Lauren Green on the Fox News Channel’s Strategy Room program about “faith and terrorism.” I was encouraged  to position honor killings as a form of domestic, Islamist terrorism. In reality, the same radically Islamist mindset responsible for 9/11 or the Mumbai massacre tends to keep their women in burqas, niquab, or hijab, segregated and subordinate. Such fundamentalists tend to follow radical Islamist mullahs who preach militant jihad and who do not preach against honor related violence, including honor killings.

(Left to right) Lynne Jordal Martin, Phyllis Chesler, Lauren Green

Fox News had convened a panel to discuss the relationship between “faith and terrorism.” We began by discussing the interview with Hussein Ibish, formerly the director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, now the executive director of the Foundation for Arab American Leadership, a non-member organization. Ibish made a series of false claims, all of which sounded reasonable, “fair,” and logical, and he did so in excellent American English. For example, he said that Muslims were persecuted by pagans when Mohammed was alive and that’s why there are some Qu’ranic verses that encourage or permit violence.

Poppycock!

Muslims under Mohammed were busy raping, pillaging, plundering, and enslaving the so-called pagans, trying to convert them; Mohammed and his soldiers genocidally slaughtered the Jewish tribes of Arabia. So what Ibish is really saying is that when Muslims cannot convert another faith group to Islam, Muslims feel “persecuted” and therefore resort to violence.

Nothing’s changed.

But one more point: When Mohammed was in a weak position, he counseled “peace.” When he was in a strong position, he counseled “no mercy, full jihad ahead.”

I stressed the terrorists, home-grown and otherwise, are not motivated by poverty, unemployment, or lack of education. Remember that Bin Laden is a billionaire, the Christmas Day failed bomber Abdul Muttalab comes from a wealthy family, and Mohamed Atta was educated (as were Fort Hood Major Nidal Hasan and Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad). Mental illness does not “cause” terrorism. The Saudi Wahabi Salifist world-wide funding of mosques, madrassas, and Middle East Institutes does. Iranian funding of Hamas and Hezbollah funds and indoctrinates terrorism.

If a true and “peaceful” Islam — a pro-woman Islam — has been hijacked by maniacs, then true and peaceful Muslims must stand up to them. If one’s interpretation of faith can encourage a man  to drive a car bomb into Times Square, it can also give good people the faith and courage to stand up and fight the extremists in their midst.

Faith can empower people to combat radical evil in a way that nothing else can.

I got to say all this — and much more. I am not sure if there will be a link posted to this interview but I will link to it if and when it becomes available.

Meanwhile, here’s the study. Let me know what you think.

Worldwide Trends in Honor Killings

by Phyllis Chesler
Middle East Quarterly
Spring 2010, pp. 3-11
(Article originally online here.)

To combat the epidemic of honor killings requires understanding what makes these murders unique. They differ from plain and psychopathic homicides, serial killings, crimes of passion, revenge killings, and domestic violence. Their motivation is different and based on codes of morality and behavior that typify some cultures, often reinforced by fundamentalist religious dictates. In 2000, the United Nations estimated that there are 5,000 honor killings every year.[1] That number might be reasonable for Pakistan alone, but worldwide the numbers are much greater. In 2002 and again in 2004, the U.N. brought a resolution to end honor killings and other honor-related crimes. In 2004, at a meeting in The Hague about the rising tide of honor killings in Europe, law enforcement officers from the U.K. announced plans to begin reopening old cases to see if certain murders were, indeed, honor murders.[2] The number of honor killings is routinely underestimated, and most estimates are little more than guesses that vary widely. Definitive or reliable worldwide estimates of honor killing incidence do not exist.

I am personally unable to see the downside of Islamic “honor killings.” Indeed, they appear to be both a solution to a problem, that is, how to get rid of Moslems, as well as a potent and concrete warning signal to Western societies as to the sort of problems they are creating for themselves by allowing the immigration of murderous and misogynistic Moslems into their countries to walk freely around their citizens. It’s like turning wolves loose among a flock of sheep.
Ms. Chesler, I understand why you as a woman are horrified by “honor killings” and consider them to be an abomination. For you, other Western women, and most Western men, myself included, any physical violence or psychological abuse of a woman by any man, but especially her husband, is anathema and indeed should be.
But when it comes to Islam, the more “honor killings” the better, for the reasons I cited above. These Moslems simply cannot be civilized in the way we Westerners understand civilization. Sure they can get a Western education, practice serious professions, and even speak Western languages fluently while explaining some of the most absurd and ridiculous conspiracy theories imaginable along with some of the most vicious and loathsome anti Jewish and anti Israel diatribes ever heard. This along with committing the torture and murder of their womenfolk, and occasionally setting off car bombs and suicided bomb belts among innocent non Moslem civilians. Just check out the Fort Hood murderer Major Hassan, or the killer of Daniel Pearl, Omar Sheikh, or the 9/11 mastermind Mohammed Atta, or the British Moslem pediatrician who drove his car into a building at Heathrow airport in an attempt at mass murder. All of these Moslems were highly educated and apparently Westernized, spoke perfect English and even looked like human beings, but the reality is that they were nothing but slavering blood thirsty monsters created by Islam, nurtured by Islam, and sent to cruelly murder by Islam.
Unlike others I maintain that these evil Islamic creatures are the rule and not the exception in Islam, and that many of those Moslems who are allegedly moderate and are supposedly critical of these Islamic extremists are secretly proud of them and their “honor killings” as well as the car bombings and suicide bombings they carry out.
Ms. Chesler I have seen these Islamic terrorists in action, the real thing if you will, and met these monsters up close, and once you have, you will never want them to get anywhere near you or anyone you care about ever again. You can actually feel the hatred for you as a Jew radiating off them, like the steam off dry ice.

    • MarkTheGreat

The women being killed are the ones who are either trying to leave Islam, or if they stayed, had a chance to moderate it.

    • That you can so cavalierly dismiss innocent victims of honor killings as a “downside” is disturbing. These women are in many cases trying to escape from Islam’s slavery and their murders are definitely a downside for them and society as a whole.

  2. 2. Eva

‘When an honor killing occurs in the West, many people, including the police, still shy away from calling it an honor killing.’

I live in Fort Morgan Colorado where a Somali woman was murdered and still the cops and local press have not mentioned a word about it being an honor killing.
    http://womenagainstshariah.blogspot.com/2010/01/ft-morgan-somali-murder-update-alleged.html

In small towns like Fort Morgan the connection will never be made unless our police, prosecutors and the media get themselves educated and get up the courage to see this murder for what it is. It finally turns out that the murderer was the victim’s step-brother so I have no doubt that it was an honor killing.

Are honor killngs domestic terrorism? Certainly and not just against muslim women. In this town muslim men hang out in front of the post office on Saturdays. I and other non-muslim women have not missed the hateful stares from these men. I haven’t heard any men complaining about being stared at which makes it clear what is going on. Knowing what they do to their own women they are making it pretty clear that they would like to do the same to us. Some women won’t go to the post office on Saturdays anymore which is a shame because that is what they want. Terrorism is not just murders, torture and bombs. It can be subtle as well. I for one, refuse to give in.

    • Marian Hennings

If the postmaster has not been informed of this problem, he or she should be. If these men are impeding people attempting to use a federal facility, they may be breaking the law. The police and possibly your congressional representative should be involved in circumstances such as you describe.

      • Eva

There probably isn’t much that can be done as they are not impeding anyone or breaking any laws. Just staring.

        • MarkTheGreat

Back in the bad old days, loitering laws could be used against these men. In our new, “enlightened” time, the police have to wait until someone gets killed before they can do anything.

  3. You make many important points, Phyllis. They need to be repeated and publicized.
Honor killings are utterly different from Western domestic violence. They are cold-blooded, not hot-blooded. They are motivated by a cuckoo form of idealism, just as Hitler was motivated by a crazy commitment to racial purity that took precedence over his need for atomic scientists and his love for music. The worst crimes and the strongest hatreds are always the result of commitment to some crazy sort of belief. It makes no sense for Palestinians to fight against an independent state with their lives and the lives of their children, but that’s what they have been doing ever since the U.N. vote of 1947. It makes no sense for Ahmadinejad to tempt the world to impose santions against him for pursuing nuclear technology, but that’s what he has been doing. And it makes no sense for parents to kill their children, but they do so because of their blind faith–their insane idealism.
    If only they were selfish!

    • Dr. Chesler’s new research illustrates many important points, particularly concerning community culpability, and I think she fairly puts to rest the legitimate concern that she is elevating one type of victimization or act of violence over another. For example, she is not calling for special enhancements for sentencing for “honor killings.” It’s interesting that her research suggests that in these cases, more than one perpetrator is more likely to exist than in other forms of murder of familiars, and all perpetrators should be punished: this is the type of insight that makes such research valuable to law enforcement yet does not create any false hierarchy of victimization or suffering.

But should she be doing this primarily on the grounds that honor crimes are different from “western” domestic violence? For instance, many domestic violence murders are, in fact, “cold blooded,” or, technically, premeditated. This is not a phenomenon limited to Islamic cultures. Overall, the ways these crimes conform with patterns of “western” domestic violence are more profound than the differences, not only in terms of the behavior of the offender but, more importantly, in terms of the subsequent reaction of society, law enforcement, and the justice system. Most importantly, the justifications used to minimize the culpability of the offenders is precisely like “western” domestic violence and radically unlike reactions to serial murder and stranger murder.

I think Dr. Chesler’s argument is actually with the feminists and Islamists who would excuse honor crimes on the grounds of culture. With that, I can agree. But if the goal of such research is to ensure that honor crimes do not receive undue lenience from authorities, or society at large, I don’t think you can avoid acknowledging that the same lenience is routinely afforded to “western” offenders who target family members and particularly their own children, for precisely the same reason: because they think they have such rights over them.

  4. 4. marlene

In America, there’s no “honor” in killing your family member. It’s MURDER and punishable, if you’re in the right state, by death; and if you’re in the wrong state, life in prison. PERIOD.

  5. 5. ERS

Phyllis, first of all, congratulations on the research and the article. As you know, I am a strong proponent of trying to get our arms around reliable data surrounding these crimes–challenging though the task may be–and then making information-based decisions about how best to prevent and otherwise deal with them. There is so much taqiyya, disinformation, misinformation, and sometimes just plain ignorance about these crimes, much of which could be quelled with reliable data.

You have done a wonderful job of trying to count, classify, and analyze the higher-profile cases that have been reported in the English-language media, but I worry about generalizing to the larger population of cases based on a sample that we probably know isn’t representative. For example, just in Jordan alone, each year about 20 of these crimes are reported in the English-language press. Anecdotally, I can’t remember a single one that wasn’t unspeakably torturous and violent for the victim. The predominant modus operandi is complete and utter overkill. So a torture rate of just 51% in that corner of the Muslim world doesn’t resonate quite right for me. Clearly, we just don’t know the true torture rate, so I am uncomfortable implying such a precise percentage when the sample doesn’t closely mirror the larger population.

I think you are much closer with your data on the percentage of victims who are male. In Jordan, I think the figure is somewhere in the ballpark of 10% (i.e., one or two of the known victims each year), and a meaningful percentage of those are gay men or men engaged in homosexual activities. They are targets of these crimes.

Still, I am glad someone has started the conversation and joined me in trying to apply the scientific method to this issue. You have done a splendid job of identifying some of the usual apologists, relativists, and co-opteds, though I think you are much too kind when you discuss the “silence” of Western immigrants about dishonor killings that occur here. My own observation is that it is worse than that. People who speak out honestly against these crimes are often threatened and accused of being Islamophobes or worse by some in the immigrant communities. There is a predictable defensiveness and an intellectual dishonesty which I find dismaying, considering the severity of these crimes and the extent to which they deny their victims the most basic of human rights.

Lastly, to answer the question, “are honor killings domestic terrorism?” When I asked one of my research subjects in Jordan to respond to the statement, “”Honor” killings are morally just.” she replied quite forcefully, as though it were a truth she held as self evident, “No, they’re like terrorism.” (“Reclaiming Honor in Jordan,” p. 100.)

Here is a Guardian review of Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s new book, with some very snarky comments. Hirsi Ali criticizes may Western feminists for not focussing on the big issues affecting women.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/may/08/ayaan-hirsi-ali-interview

    • Marian Hennings

I agree with you, it was a snarky column. Ayaan is no rightwinger; she went to work for AEI because no one on the left offered her a job. She is actually more of a leftist in her political views, but many on the left are uncomfortable with her criticism of a non-Western religion/culture. If she were to be attacking the West or Christianity instead, they would be all ears. I think she is probably too good for Niall Ferguson, but oh well. How much opportunity does she have to meet decent men?

    • MarkTheGreat

Western fminists, haven’t been feminsts for many years. What they are is doctrinaire ideologues. Whatever advances the leftwing cause is what they support, even when it hurts women.

  7. 7. Norman Simms

    Phyllis

Thank you for this excellent piece of scholarship. This kind of solid examination of the question of so-called honour-killing in relation to domestic violence places the topic firmly into the area of serious discussion.

    Congratulations.

In one case reported in Germany, the family assigned a younger son to kill the daughter because he would be tried as a juvenile and receive only a short prison term. I believe the father and other family adults were convicted and sent to prison, although I don’t remember the details. At any rate, it was good to see the state take the proper perspective on the case.

  9. 9. Marian Hennings

I have recently finished Rana Husseini’s book Murder in the Name of Honor about her efforts first in Jordan and then world-wide to combat honor killings. Although it is primarily a Muslim-on-Muslim crime, some of the perpetrators told Rana Husseini that even though Islam did NOT sanction honor killings and they expected Allah’s anger for their deeds they killed their female relatives anyway because their society demanded it. So, it apparently goes beyond religion. Even if the woman was a rape victim, she was still the one killed because her virginity had been lost! Her willingness was not even an issue in many cases. This makes the matter even worse in that there is no protection for women even if they DO comply with repressive dress codes and are submissive. Women in such societies are punished for being victims – actually, for merely being women.

  10. I write to ask all of Dr. Chesler’s readers to become PR machines. With this study Chesler has established a body of academic work which qualifies her as a middle east expert. We all need to be demanding that she and others, such as the women who signed the letter to Clinton, be part of the talking heads who so regularly lecture the public on the middle east. Obama and Clinton have unleashed their PR to justify the return of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Obama is meeting with Karzi at the white house on the 12th to implement this plan, regardless of the impact on women.

Clinton has eliminated all the development programs started by Condi Rice in the women’s office at the State Dept. No one in US media, in this Adm. or academia is speaking for the women under sharia law. FOX is the only TV station to interview women on this subject. Why not CNN or MSNBC? Why not local public radio stations? Why not NPR which has become the mouthpiece for radical Islam’s propagandists? Why not the BBC?

Please dear readers, all of us together must ask the media we listen and watch to include Chesler and Jeff Imm in their discussion of middle east politics. Below is my first effort to my local public radio station.

Suggestions to balance your coverage of Women, Islam and the War

Dr Phyllis Chesler, would be a great balance to all the Islamic “professors” K Dunn and J Feracca have on regularly, excusing Islamic slavery of women. It has been so sickening to listen to all the patriarchal propaganda accepted without question by WPR hosts that I don’t even call. I just turn off the shows. If you really care about balance, interview this woman, Phyllis Chesler, on her study of Islam, honor killing and women. She also wrote the Death of Feminism. I put a portion of the study at the end of this email.

Another contrary voice, Jeff Imm of REAL is organizing a demonstration May 12 across from the White House where Obama and Karzi are meeting to discuss bringing the Taliban back into the power structure in Afghanistan.

Also, Hillary Clinton is finally being challenged by every major global woman’s group about the State Dept’s abandonment of women’s freedom and security. Clinton removed all Condi Rice’s development programs for Afghan and Iraqi women promising to replace them with “more comprehensive” programs. However, nothing has actually been done except for speeches about Clinton’s commitment to women. This, despite public appeals directly to Clinton from Afghani women.

There can never be a pro-woman Islam in my opinion because in return for total submission to Allah, Islamic men are given total dominance over females. Without the male dominance of females Islam would not be Islam. The men have surrendered their power to Allah, they will not surrender their power over women. Islamic men are not afraid of women – they are afraid of losing their power over women. If that power is taken away what does Islam leave them with? The power over females is fundamental to Islam. And it is when the men lose that power that they kill their wives or daughters.

  12. 12. DEGUELLO

Are honor killins crimes in Obamaland? Only when committed by angry, white, republican, males.

  13. 13. Ruler4You

I guess it depends on whether or not you are the ‘guest’ of ‘honor’ or not. I mean, this is America. Who ever heard of equal justice under the law here? It’s “social justice” and ‘social justice’ dictates sensitivity to “diversity” as long as it isn’t ‘sensitive’ to whitey.

    • Thank You for this link. Any doctor who does this should be criminally prosecuted. Every feminist should blog about this. For years I have tried to tell feminists if they did not stand for women’s rights globally, their own rights in the US would be affected and here it is.

  15. 15. don

Interesting question. Of course, there is no separation of the personal and the political in Islam. And since the New Left 60s in the US and for France in 68, all politics is personal! So by that calculation, an Islamic honor killing is a political act— and an act of domestic terrorism given the current definition of terrorism as violence to achieve a political goal. On this point of personal principle, it is curious how the Western left and Islam are simpatico, although the political goals for women’s roles in there respective societies are different and distinct. For the old New Left violence was legitimate to liberate women from the exploitive patriarchy of the nuclear family model–she is to be free to compete in the state subsidized gender normed market place–while under Islam violence against women is legitimate to keep them in their true state of nature as gender segregated hand maidens in the state harem. So, in the West, the women get to rule the harem while under Islam its still the traditional patriarchy, with day to day affairs handled by the eunuchs–kind of like the current Western, feel good, political elite at the moment, but I digress.

  16. 16. Dr McCosker

Dear Dr Chesler – thank you for this. There are any number of people to whom I will communicate your article. For example: I belong to the worldwide Anglican womens’ organisation, “The Mothers’ Union”. Just last month I gave a small presentation to the little MU group in my home church, on the subject of women in Islam, drawing on what I have learned from, for example, Nonie Darwish’s book on sharia, and Rosemary Sookhdeo’s ‘Secrets Behind the Burqa’ (which, despite its slightly sensational title, is in fact based on a solid and sober piece of academic sociological research undertaken by Mrs Sookhdeo in Britain, together with her examination of the relevant Islamic texts). The ladies went away with a lot to think about. I will certainly print off a few copies of your article, Dr Chesler, and keep them up my sleeve, to distribute to some of the ladies in that group – particularly our president.

The MU needs to know this stuff, for then we can lobby our politicians intelligently, as required.

  17. 17. lc

excellent article – we can do nothing if we refuse to call these crimes what they are.

I recommend an article from the New English Review titled: “Muslims and Westerners: The Psychological Differences” by Nicolai Sennels. The author had provided therapy to more than 150 Muslim men and offered some insight into the psychological differences between them and westerners. Particularly mentioned were the differing views about anger and its expression, and locus of control, which is basically a person’s sense of personal responsibility.

Bernard Lewis, in one of his books, mentioned “the three inequalities” in Islam which were all sanctified by holy writ and centuries of practice. These three inequalities are: believer/infidel, master/slave and man/woman. As he stated, the infidel can always become a believer, the slave may be freed, but the woman will always remain a woman.

Dr. Phyllis Chesler, your Study is wonderful (as usual). You are, too.

I agree, (psychological and physical) Violence on Beings (Children, Girls, Jungs, Women, Men) must be altogether condemned,

but it is important to analyse the very Essence of every Kind of Violence,

    which is what you does/did.

Either we do eradicate (the) Roots of Violence, (any Kind of it, and every of them),

or the Fighting against it is just a Matter of Appearence, suitable to superficial People, Cowards, and so on.

Not you (neither to other Truth-lovers)!

Is rape in America an American male conspiracy to oppress women? When you can see the parallels in this question to the stupid one that you’re asking, respond. I won’t hold my breath.

An intriguing analogue to the feminist hysteric is the homosexual activist. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM), within the hysterical context, has also said that “in both sexes overt behavior is often a caricature of femininity.”

The ridiculousness of the Feminist poseur would be laughable if the culture were not allowing itself to be intimidated into submission. If there is anything the Feminist cannot tolerate, it is humor (except male bashing) or truth, especially if it challenges their incantations.

      http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/15/sexual-harassment-plagues_n_392622.html

CAIRO — The sexual harassment of women in the streets, schools and work places of the Arab world is driving them to cover up and confine themselves to their homes, said activists at the first-ever regional conference addressing the once taboo topic.

Activists from 17 countries across the region met in Cairo for a two-day conference ending Monday and concluded that harassment was unchecked across the region because laws don’t punish it, women don’t report it and the authorities ignore it.

The harassment, including groping and verbal abuse, is a daily experience women in the region face and makes them wary of going into public spaces, whether it’s the streets or jobs, the participants said. It happens regardless of what women are wearing.

It is the biggest fault of women in society that they keep quiet about the abuse muslim women have to put up with.I openly hate the Muslim culture for what it stands for….Repression and abuse

  21. Dear Phyllis,

Leftism and Islam are murderous/terroristic ideologies.

    Winston Churchill wrote, of Islam, in 1899;

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.

The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.

The Left excuses and condones Islam, while loathing Christianity and Judaism.

If you do an engine search, of Churchill on Communism, you will get some equally poignant descriptions of the Blight, that is Leftism.

  22. The war against the American Family, has been going on for about 40 years. Waged by Neo Marxist Hysterical Feminists(read; ANY, Flower Child/ADVOCATE.)

Dr. Ruth Wisse of Harvard, said…Neo Marxist Feminism has done to the American Family, what Communism did to the Russian economy, and most of the damage is irreparable.

    http://www.dadi.org/hysteria.htm

While Narcissism seeks to kill the G-d of our forebearers, Hysterical Feminism seeks to kill the cultural traditions of millenia. Both are goals that rival Genesis, and yet both are succeeding. From clinical experience I have learned, never underestimate the power and determination of pathology(EVIL.) Remember Faust.

As with most personality disorders, the diagnostic hallmarks of the histrionic are the evolved childish protections against the knock, knock (or Tick, Tock) of anxiety and maturation. They are the protection against the universal impulse for union and procreation. The monster under the bed has been displaced by anything which smacks of the “masculine”. The anxiety of becoming a responsible parent has been displaced by the eraser of abortion – the power to kill responsibility. The need for security has been replaced with the demand for government entitlement (another person’s money) without having to struggle with human reciprocity. I am woman, just hear me roar!

    In conclusion;

Testosterophobic/Christophobic/Patrophobic, Boomer, Flower Children Of The Damned/Body Snatchers, scored a coup in 1968. There has been a Spiritual Vacuum in the West, since then. And, it’s been filling with, Mulch Worship and now, Islam(Rabies/Churchill.)

  23. In AmeriKa, we are completely surrounded by lunatic, Leftist, Flower Children, who howl, whine, whimper, toss tantrums…Are suicidal, homicidal, nihilistic, phobic beyond belief and militant atheists.

And we talk to them as if they are our equals. As far as I can see, we are actually, GOING ALONG TO GET ALONG. I’ve heard this described as, The Tyranny Of The Weak.

We’ve lost the Abortion War. 50,000,000 of the little critters vaporized for convenience and blood lust.
(fear not, this is not a gory picture of a fetus. I’m an adult, after all.)

Think of Howard Stearn with OCD and sex addiction. And, Howie Mandel, also with OCD, and Bipolar, Ted Turner and howling loon…Chairman How, of the DNC: “I hate Republicans and all they stand for” (There seems to be something about Howards.)

These absolute lunatics are so far out of touch with reality, they should be in locked wards on heavy doses of Thorazine. Instead, we see them on the Tube being interviewed by the likes of Chrissie Matthews and Keithie Odorman. And, too many of us, feel bad for them, and believe they have a point(only at the tops of their gourds.)
