What Are the 5 Essential Rap and Hip-Hop Albums? LOL!! The question is oxymoronic - especially the 'moronic'. Rap and Hip-Hop are not music, are not essential in any way to a civilized society. It is a catering to the simplistic stylings of an illiterate, tasteless and, at best, primitive nihilism.

No one ever goes broke underestimating musical tastes in a multicultural society.

One of the old fogies who haunt this web site has to say it, and it might as well be me: rap and hip-hop sucks, and may it die a gruesome death someday, duct-taped to a bass drum in a pops concert featuring the operetta music of Sigmund Romberg and Victor Herbert. Kill it with saccharine. Maybe there will be a chemical reaction and the result will be the Monkees.

Rap & Hip-Hop are garbage, so there aren't any.

If Rap were a painting, it would be a blank canvas with vomit spewed on it.

There is nothing, NO THING, that relieves Rap from the misogyny and violence this supposed form of expression turns out and makes money for no talent scum.

Biggies - Ready to Die. Jay Z - Reasonable Doubt. Nas - Illmatic.

Those three for me are timeless. I'd have to really think hard about what other two to add.

Rap and Hip-Hop are not forms of music.

They are forms of poetry.
