A Handsome Stable: The 10 Most Beautiful Ferrari Road Cars

It took me days to narrow down this list and, even now, I am still conflicted.

I attempted to make a list of the world’s most beautiful cars but it turned out to be way too long for any sane person to read in one article.  However, during my list making, I realized that I was strongly favoring the Italians.  I decided to compile a list of the most beautiful Ferraris.

Before anyone chokes on their spaghetti because I did not include their favorite Ferrari, please note that this list only includes Ferrari road cars.  There are no sport prototypes/ racecars or Ferrari collaborations (i.e. Dino and Zagato).  (My own favorite isn’t even included here because it is technically a racecar.)  We can cover them later.

Enjoy my numerous horse puns–as well as the gorgeous cars.

I am more of the Alfa-Romeo type, but those Ferraris are great nonetheless

The "most beautiful" in my opinion is the 1961 Lusso. If you've ever seen one in person, the lines literally take your breath away. The proportions are perfect and the shape is as sensuous as an inanimate object can get. For a "driver's car" I would have to select the F40. Unlike today's supercars that only take a large bank account to drive fast, the F40 without electronic aids demands skill from its driver to extract the most from it. It will try to kill lesser human beings.

Ferrari 365 GTB

I was at the 24 hours of Lemans in 1972 and this car dominated its class. At the end (5) GTB's finished - in 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th - OVERALL, not just their class. The best finish by street Ferraris in the top ten overall to this day.

It is still my favorite street Ferrari:

Yeaaah I dunno, no Daytona? No Magnum PI Dino? You seem to like some of the oddball efforts. I do agree about the "overdesign" of the current models, I keep looking at them and trying to decide if they are pretty or just old.

Of course that 67 Spyder was cloned into (or was it from???) the Alfa Romeos, as the Daytona was cloned into the Datson 240Z.

Er, the Magnum PI car was not a Dino, but a 308 GTSi, which, IMO, which was a targa top 308 GTBi, and looks so much like the 288 GTO that they should really all be considered the same car.

OK, but well, the Dino was prettier, and they were all rather small and under-powered, but we are just talking looks here.

How about the Testarosa and/or F1? Both brutal, but clean.

BTW, where is the 512 Berlinetta Boxer? It the only car to drive if you can't drive 55:
