Really? The Big Bagel? The Universe is the shape of a bagel?
Pure speculation on mathematical models that can not be proven is passed off to the public as science.
A fancy graphic animation and poof the Universe is explained.
How does any of what is shown conform to the laws of thermodynamics, physics or even astronomy?
Cosmology has failed and crumbled as a science. Pure fantasy and theory or conjecture is now science fact.
The annihilation or total destruction of matter is not possible. Nikola Tesla said Space is Nothing, it is not matter and can not be ‘bent’ or acted upon.
So this bend or acceleration on some kind of curve in space is a fraud.
Nothing, not even gravity which Howard Bloom identifies as dark energy, which is ridiculous in its assumption since science can not even identify the source of gravity or what makes gravity to even come to that conclusion.
The speculation of Dark Energy is based on Stephen Hawking’s assumption of a near zero sum universe that the Light or visible energy of the universe is well energy/matter. So the ‘hole’ in the universe must be gravity or Dark Energy.
While anti-matter is cool to speculate and sounds awesome and I do wish it existed, it does not. The matter in the Universe is Positive Protons, Neutral Neutrons and Negative Electrons. The key to gravity is in the atom, not a mysterious unobservable Dark Energy.
No Negative Negatrons or Positive Positrons of equal and opposite force.
These two forces do not annihilate, the energy of the Negatron is restructured to a Proton and the Positron realigns to its natural state, an electron.
No big mystery.
If antimatter were real that would mean the gravitational forces of the antimatter would be opposite gravity or in other words repulsion. There would be no bagel. If there was an explosion or Big Bang of the Universe anti-matter and matter would not attract to each other. They would repeal each other forever.
Cosmology can’t have it both ways. Gravity is not independent of matter. It is the source. If the source of gravity is from the atom then the gravitational force of anti-matter would be opposite matter and when or if they come in contact through the vast stretch of the cosmos they would repeal each other not attract. That is the very definition of anti-matter, it is the opposite of matter.
Unless scientist are suggesting that the electric forces of matter and anti-matter which can not by physical laws reach each other like gravity can because its rate of attraction is diminished exponential to its source the big bagel would be the big twin cones. Matter and Anti-matter would never meet. They would flow out from each other forever out into space away from each other.
No curvature of space-time. No annihilation of anti-matter and matter from the simple conclusion that if all matter is attracted to each other by gravitational force the opposite must be true of anti-matter thus there would be no attraction of matter to anti-matter.
Here is where math gets it wrong.
-1 + 1 = 0
That is the formula of anti-matter (-1) + matter (1) = annihilation (0).
Why? Because anti-matter is not negative one.
That is a mathematical construct that does not exist in the actual universe. The laws of thermodynamics are not broken or bent. Entropy is not repealed and the natural state of matter is upheld.

One Universe. Three basic components to the Universe.
SPACE – It is nothing, it can not be touched, manipulated, bent or broken. Only occupied. You can never escape SPACE. It is infinite in all directions without end from any point in SPACE. It is the IMMOVABLE OBJECT.
TIME – It is nothing, it can not be touched, manipulated, bent or broken. Only measured. You can never escape TIME. It is an infinite force moving all matter in one direction forward from one moment of now to the next without beginning or end. TIME is infinite in all directions that can never be escaped. It is the IRRESISTIBLE FORCE.
SPACE the IMMOVABLE OBJECT hold all MATTER and TIME the IRRESISTIBLE FORCE pushes all MATTER forward from one moment of now to the next that can not be manipulated, touched, bent or broken because both are not MATTER, both the OBJECT matter occupies and the FORCE that MATTER is moved that by can never be escaped.
Gravity is from MATTER and can not bend, break, move, touch or manipulate NOTHING.
I can prove it. All matter vibrates. Hot objects, high energy or excited matter vibrates at a faster rate.
Cold objects, low energy or static matter vibrates at a slow rate, nearly undetectable sometimes. Yet does an electron every stop moving, ever?
Or are there subatoms, electrons, protons and other forces in constant motion at all times. That is UNIVERSAL TIME. It will never stop and it is the force that keeps the UNIVERSE in motion that is IRRESISTIBLE.
SPACE
TIME
MATTER
That is it.
SPACE is SPACE
TIME is TIME
MATTER and ENERGY which is just another state of MATTER like plasma is always MATTER. Thus:
MATTER is MATTER
No big bangs, no big bagels and no curvature of the space-time continuum.
Can we stop making up fairy-tales about the Universe?
Antimatter doesn’t exist? You might want to tell that to every particle accelerator on the planet. Not nly do they make the stuff on a daily basis, most of them actually use it quite frequently. Also, while antimatter has opposite-signed charge and baryon/lepton numbers, it has the same sign mass, so matter and antimatter attract gravitationally.
As for what is gravity, the video alludes to it, but gravity is simply how we three-dimensional creatures describe the motion of objects through a curved 4-dimensional space. The curvature is caused by the matter present. It looks to me that Bloom is positing something else to curve spacetime into the bagel shape.
We established back at the beginning of the last century that there is no such thing as absolute time or space. That science is, no kidding, settled. If you want to have absolute time or space you have to break the laws of electromagnetism that we know and use to make the modern world.
It’s a bit of a misnomer to speak of electrons as moving, they really don’t, it’s just a matter of the wave function varying in space. Now, when you’re talking about relatively large scales, like current flowing through a wire, it’s not terribly wrong to just say the electron is moving and you get to avoid playing with the wave equation. But when you’re talking about electrons in atoms their orbitals are defined as standing waves of the wave function.
Finally, I would say that matter is another phase of energy rather than the opposite. Thereis far, far more energy floating around the universe than there is matter.
With all that being said, you are correct that the Big Bagel looks to be another just-so-story hanging in the air without any experimental grounding. It may be fun to think about, and maybe we can figure out a way to test it, but let’s not claim we’ve figured the whole universe thing out just yet.
