HOLY CRAP LOOK AT THE FIRST LADY’S DRESS. #BOWDOWN

Say what you will about Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, or Tom Brokaw — and their producers — they were at least grownup enough to keep their biases sufficiently in check to avoid sounding like overt cheerleaders for the Democrat administrations they propped up. The #Bowdown hashtag is a nice touch as well. Add it together with this tweet from Versailles on the Potomac from the account of the first lady herself yesterday, and as others have pondered since the media went into full worship mode of the Obama, it does make you wonder why we bothered to have a revolution in 1776 in the first place:
As Neil Munro of the Daily Caller noted in response, “Poverty and unemployment are at near-record levels, the economy is stalled, and a record 47 million Americans are on food stamps, yet aides for first lady Michelle Obama’s tweeted out a picture of her two dogs apparently dining at a table laid with crystal and china.”
The timing of Thomas’s tweet is made doubly cringeworthy by NBC’s Andrea Mitchell going into full Hillary protection mode yesterday, further making plain the biases of NBC and its spin-off networks.
Of course, NBC and its subsidiaries aren’t the only network to go full monarchist; last month, ABC’s Website ran the embarrassing headline, “50 Ways to Celebrate Michelle Obama’s Birthday.” As John Podhoretz tweeted at the time, “I have one: Be proud of your country for the first time.”
That might be asking a bit much of anyone working in the modern MSM, of course. Or anyone currently living in the White House, come to think of it.
