Breaking News: CNN Radio Off the Air

CNN is shutting down its CNN Radio unit. Today will be the last day of broadcasts for the department, which focused primarily on long-form audio news stories.

Staff for the unit were told about the change today, and their last day will be Friday. TVNewser hears that around a dozen staffers are affected, though some may end up getting jobs elsewhere in the company.

“The company completed a review of its radio business and has made the decision to cease production of CNN Radio podcasts, effective immediately,” reads a CNN statement.
