Rubin Reports

Today’s brief kidnapping of Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan is another turning point in the Middle East, a warning signal to every Arab country looking to have relations with the United States.

The Libyan government was overthrown by a U.S.-led alliance which intended to bring democracy to Libya. However, Libya has since suffered anarchy and terrorism, including the killing of an American ambassador and three other U.S. officials last September 11, 2012. In other words, the ouster of Muammar Gaddafi –the only “successful” Middle Eastern initiative of the Obama administration — has been shown to be a house of cards.

This new incident is a response to a recent U.S. raid on Libya that captured an al-Qaeda terrorist who was the mastermind in planning several attacks on the United States. Al-Qaeda wanted to make it clear that the United States is no stronger than they in Libya. If America could seize a leading terrorist, then al-Qaeda could seize the prime minister.

Perhaps with that point being made, al-Qaeda released the prime minister hours later. But consider what was proven: the United States can’t protect an ally, no matter how high-level he is. No doubt Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, has taken note regarding the future with the Taliban.

Speaking of Karzai:

“‘Meanwhile, serious new irritants in the relationship have convinced Karzai that he was right to question American good faith in year-old negotiations on an idea,” wrote the Washington Post.  “The accord is considered critical for the international community to continue funding the Afghan government and shoring up its nascent security forces.”

“In the previously unreported incident, U.S. forces intercepted an Afghan government convoy and seized the leader in Logar province, Karzai spokesman Aimal Faizi said. In doing so, Faizi added, the Americans foiled a months-long bid by the Afghan government to wean the Taliban commander, identified by others as Latif Mehsud, from the battlefield and use him to help launch substantive peace talks.

“Faizi called the seizure a major breach of sovereignty. Although Karzai has not mentioned the case publicly, his private fury has been reflected in recent suggestions that Afghanistan might forgo a bilateral pact.”

Meanwhile, a U.S. raid targeting Somalia failed to capture a leading al-Qaeda terrorist, and of course al-Qaeda is an “ally” in Syria, being on the side the United States is supporting. And the United States is punishing Egypt as it fights an insurgency by al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups, a move intended to help the Muslim Brotherhood. (It should be noted that the purpose of the Muslim Brotherhood’s sponsorship by the U.S. government is to fight al-Qaeda. But there’s not a single example of the Muslim Brotherhood or Salafists combating al-Qaeda, except possibly one or two in Iraq.)  [Watch this Egyptian activist lose his cool about the Muslim Brotherhood. Notice that while the U.S. government is of course on the side of the MB, Israel is of course on the side of the army, yet this irrational insane hatred of Israel is so clear, too. For a statement by a 'Kuewait scholar that he views antisemitism as an integral part of Islam, see here.]

What this all means is that the United States is weak and not an attractive ally.

And twelve years after the September 11 attacks, and after Obama’s recent declaration that it is defeated, al-Qaeda is still able to act.

The American people can be trusted. They have earned that trust with decades of sacrifice and by steadfastly holding fast to the principals of freedom and human dignity.
It is Obama that cannot be trusted. He and those that he surrounds himself with are the unprincipled thugs that are attempting to destroy American prestige and sully American honor.
It is a truism of politics that the pendulum swings both ways. I think for most Americans that cannot come soon enough.

Well, there were six GIs killed so far in Oct. and nine killed in Afghanistan in Sept, but their families can't get their death benefits because of the shut down while Big Bird and PBS get their programed corporate social welfare millions in funding. A hundred grand a pop for fifteen dead GIs is not a whole lot of money: good thing we're not loosing three hundred a week like during the Vietnam War, when it was ten grand a pop, or loosing a hundred and forty an hour like during WW2 or stressed out Americans would be slitting their wrists and rioting in the cities. Since the president prefers the Muslim Brotherhood, I really don't think the president is interested in spending the money to keep the Egyptian Israeli peace treaty in force, and obviously the lucky to survive Libyan PM is SOL (Sh out of luck), although I'm sure the president was deeply concerned. Maybe Hillary or John Boy Kerry or Chucky Cheese Hegel phoned in a good word for him and promised a year supply of Heinz Ketchup to the sheiks in charge? On a lighter note, white vaginas were banned from performing the Vagina Monologues at Bernard College in the interest diversity women of color.

The mooslim bruthahood has literally dozens - possibly hundreds - of operatives inside America's security apparatus (FBI-CIA-NSA-State-Defense) who are influencing policy AND OPERATIONS....how about NSA disclosing THOSE cell phone records, hmmmm? Beginning with, but certainly not limited to MB Princess and Hillary "confidante" Huma Abedin, our country is being "fundamentally transformed" before our eyes with the assistance of John McCain, John Boehner and others who ATTACKED Michelle Bachmann when she dared attempt exposing the scandal to public scrutiny....I cannot believe the media is completely corrupted and in league with the marxists/commies in the White Mosque and the democratic party. These people are DOMESTIC ENEMIES of the United States.

Observers (France24) had a piece about the Libyan militia gunmen kidnappers (or like AQ likes to say- prosecutor issued 'arrest'- no kidnapping). There are numerous militia groups that are under the Interior Ministry and Defense Ministry for security and law and order. Reading news around the world- there are 2 militia groups (affiliated with AQ) that have also their own party. One of them is the former Tripoli militia led by Abdullah Nagir and Abdel Hakim Belhaj (LIFG) which wasa dissolved in 2012 and now re-emerged as a political party. and The Martyrs of Abu Salim Brigades. Both grpoups work for the Libyan g'ment.Latest also there was a car bomb without casualties at the Swedish Consulate. Ansar al-Sharia (AQ subsidiary) is like an octopus with tentacles in all these militias- some highly armed - all rebels fighters against Qaddafi. What US/Obama policies (or lack thereof) are causing in the long-run is a utter disaster. Russia is ready to move in to ME (incl. Maghreb) the spoils of US abandoning principles and common sense- even in EU- Obama is playing cat and mouse game with loaded dice in the best interest of Russia and China. Makling a deal with Iran at any price,at any cost to humanity -abandoning allies to the fate of Abyssinian cats- for Russian Blue and Persians coming out as victors (without vanguishing) in the chess game of appeasement gone wild.

Indeed, but it is still quite difficult to say when the pendulum will swing back. As things stand now we could get 8 years of Hillary. The next few years could accelerate or retard the pendulum.
