Well, here’s another one anyway:

President Barack Obama suggested maybe it’s time to make voting a requirement.

“Other countries have mandatory voting,” Obama said Wednesday in Cleveland, where he spoke about the importance of middle class economics.

“It would be transformative if everybody voted — that would counteract money more than anything.”

It’s no coincidence that the president is musing about a voting mandate (“Call it a tax!”) the day after his people failed to turn out enough lefty Israel voters to unseat Bibi Netanyahu. He doesn’t think it would “counteract money” in politics. He thinks — perhaps correctly — that mandatory voting would ensure that his side’s money would be more effective at getting Low Information Voters to the polls.
