I thought it would pass by a minimum of 356-79, based on statements by Dick Gephardt. Well, it’s not like the Dems expected to capture Congress this year, so I guess they felt more free to vote their consciences. Also, six Republicans defected, and I’d only allowed them 4.

Bigger news — Tom Daschle now says he supports the President’s resolution. If you’ll click on this post, you’ll see I predicted a Yes vote from Daschle. That ought to drag along enough Democrats to get the 78-22 vote predicted.
