Sorry, that was specious and snide. But it has the tiny little benefit of being true.
Besides, we won’t have to stay in Iraq for 30 years. Oh, somebody might have to — anyone, say, looking for a cut of the oil revenues. Someone we can trust. Someone who knows the territory. Someone with some real experience in giving Arab lands some decent governance.
