Does anyone wonder whether a President Gavin Newsom would do anything differently than he has as governor of California? His state is $18 billion in the hole, and he's taxing the "rich" at the highest rate in the country. And as “President COP30,” Newsom would let your house burn down, too.
We're just learning that Newsom's environmental luxury-belief lunacy allowed the Pacific Palisades fire to get completely out of control, as I reported in "SHOCK DOCS: Gavin Newsom's Secret LET IT BURN Enviro Rules Led to Palisades Fire Catastrophe."
Thanks to lawsuit discovery, we know that under Gavin Newsom's "leadership," California created so-called environmental “Avoidance Areas” that likely led directly to the firestorm that destroyed thousands of homes and businesses in Pacific Palisades. Twelve people were killed in the fire.
The state's "Avoidance Areas" are part of the complex California environmental overlays on public lands. These policies prioritize plants over people.
And as President COP30, Newsome would be delighted to let your house burn down, too.

Firefighters were told to leave the still-hot Lachman Fire site in the Topanga Canyon area — the fire that sparked up days later to incinerate Pacific Palisades in January 2025. The Lachman Fire was intentionally set. Federal officials have indicted a suspect, who is also being held before trial.
As you'll read from my previous story, there's plenty of contemporaneous evidence that the laissez-faire attitude about putting out the Lachman Fire contributed to destroying nearly 7,000 homes and businesses and was responsible for killing 12 people.
The state's secret wildfire plan sets aside certain "Avoidance Areas." These don't refer to areas to avoid because they're dangerous. This term of art in Gavin Newsom's California is rather a directive to firefighters and state land managers not to use typical tools of the trade to fight fires, such as heavy machinery and fire retardants. Not only that, but state rules explain that if putting out a fire was necessary with this type of equipment, they'd also need the services of a state-approved archeologist to oversee the work.
The hotspots left from the Lachman Fire were ordered abandoned, which angered LAFD firefighters, as told in this story: “Bombshell Texts Reveal L.A. Fire Brass Knew Fire That Burned Down Palisades Wasn't Out.”
The "Avoidance Area" policy goes something like this: "The majority of the park has not burned in over 50 years. To restore the natural fire frequency and chaparral habitats, Topanga State Park should be left to burn within reasonable public safety limits and outside of fire exclusion zones," the state's own policy reads.
"Public safety"? Twelve dead people who lived in Pacific Palisades and thousands of people without homes want to know more about this mythical "public safety."
The state has not put this detailed plan online. Thanks to Circling the News, we have a link to that policy; it is available only as a Word document. The reason behind that can be found on page 60:
Avoidance Areas should be shared with the Incident Command, but measures should be taken to keep the information confidential, including tracking and collecting physical maps and flash drives handed out, as well as ensuring that maps shared with the media do not contain sensitive resource data. [emphasis added to the whole (expletive deleted) paragraph]
It is a state policy to withhold "sensitive resource data" from the people and the media. That sounds like some sort of tort to me. Get on it, Society of Professional Journalists.
As I wrote in my first piece:
It is shocking that environmentalists would be so cavalier with human life, but we shouldn't be surprised. Environmentalists have telegraphed the plants-over-people philosophy for decades now – especially along the West Coast. And don't bother pointing out that plants die in fires, too, that means nothing to the anti-human ghouls of the environmental movement.
There are more outrages about this incident, which I'll continue writing about, but this one needs to stand alone. The Newsom to Lachman to Palisades triple play of dumb stands as an example of how myopic, preening, and unthinking the avatar of these environmental policies really is.
And how stupid people would be to vote for him anymore.
