In a press conference on Wednesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) referred to Republicans as Russians in what may have been a Freudian slip.

“Attacking the sacred right to health care is in the Russian — er, Republican — DNA,” Pelosi said. She went on with her prepared remarks, and the audience started laughing.

She added, “That too,” between giggles. “I get these R-words mixed up.”

Democrats have continually pushed the narrative that President Donald Trump is something of a Russian agent. While Russian President Vladimir Putin did say he wanted Trump to win the presidency — because Trump had pushed detente with Russia — Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russia investigation has yet to produce any hard evidence that Trump himself approached the Russians for help or that the Russian meddling in the election was aimed at helping Trump win, rather than merely setting Americans against one another.

Perhaps Pelosi has been internalizing too many talking points…
