Clown Update: Professional Clowns Organize as Creepy Clown Attacks Escalate

Professional clowns are feeling a little defensive these days, and who can blame them? After weeks of frightening reports of “creepy clowns” terrorizing communities, some fed-up clowns in Tucson, Arizona, are feeling under attack.

They’ve organized a “Clown Lives Matter” march for Oct. 15 to raise awareness that not all clowns are “psycho killers.” Attendees are invited to participate in full clown gear.

“This is a peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers,” a flyer seen in Tucson read. “We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!”

More than 100 clowns are expected to show up in the so-called first ever “Clown Lives Matter” protest.

Authorities across the nation have been forced to take all clown threats seriously, even though dozens of rumors have turned out to be a hoax. Schools have even been forced to conduct lockdowns and cancel classes.

Jordan Jones (aka “Snuggles the Clown”) said, “I just want all these teenagers to know that — this isn’t a game anymore. You know? You’re ruining my job and other actors’ [jobs] around the world.” He complained the pranksters are putting his life in danger with their antics. Snuggles considers himself to be “a positive role model” for young people, but lately it hasn’t felt that way.

“The other day I went outside for a photo shoot, and people were driving by taking pictures, saying they were going to call the cops,” he complained bitterly. “They profiled me as one of those clowns in the woods.”

If you’re wondering why people would confuse a cuddly clown with a name like “Snuggles” with a “psycho killer,” well….

Via Fox News:

Several teenagers in Connecticut were arrested Wednesday on charges of making threats, accused of posting clown hoaxes on Instagram that led to extra security at several school districts.

From EAG News:

A clown reportedly attacked a student outside of a Texas State University dormitory on Monday, the latest in an epidemic of creepy clown attacks, sightings and threats nationwide in the last month.

Texas State University Police Sgt. Rolando Belmares told The Austin American-Statesman the clown chased and grabbed a woman as she left the on-campus housing at Bobcat Village Apartments near Bobcat Stadium around 7 p.m. Monday, but the victim was able to break free.

The student was not injured and did not report the incident until Tuesday evening, Belmares said.

The victim described her attacker as a clown with a white face and black paint around the eyes, wearing a green wig and black-and-white jumpsuit, KXAN reports.

The clown was a roughly 6-foot 2-inch man, she said.

Clowns Attack Man Out for a Walk in Oklahoma:

A man walking his dog in Tulsa was attacked by a suspect wearing a “painted clown face and having orange hair” Thursday morning, police say.

Neighbors say they are now on high alert

“I don’t understand what they’re trying to do,” said Francisco Moreles.

Moreles works at a nearby apartment complex. He’s heard about the nationwide clown attacks, but now that it’s happened on his street, he hopes it doesn’t scare his neighbors.

“I hear they’re trying to scare the kids and in the schools, especially in the schools,” said Francisco Moreles.

Officers say the unidentified victim told them he was hit on the head. He then ran off.

Police had their helicopter up over the scene as well as officers on the ground looking for the suspect but were unable to locate anyone.
