It appears that Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) tried to crash Hillary Clinton confidante Sidney Blumenthal’s private deposition before the House Select Committee on Benghazi on Tuesday.
The former chairman of the powerful House Oversight Committee sauntered into the closed-door deposition and reportedly “remained inside for about a minute before he was escorted out by the panel’s chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.).”
The pair briefly exchanged hushed words in a nearby hallway before Issa stormed off, throwing an empty soda can into a nearby trash bin.
NBC News producer Frank Thorp posted a video on Vine showing Gowdy and Issa.

One can only speculate what Issa had in mind by joining the proceedings. Asked about the interruption later, Gowdy would only say, “You’ll have to ask Chairman Issa.”
