Jenner Dethrones Obama on Twitter

President Obama got overtaken in the decathlon of Twitter records yesterday.

Obama launched his first personal Twitter account in six years of presidency on May 18, racking up a million followers in just under five hours. The Guinness Book of World Records certified the feat.

But after Bruce Jenner debuted on a Vanity Fair cover and online yesterday as Caitlyn Jenner, Obama’s record was toppled by the Olympic champion: a million followers in four hours.

Obama later gave a nod to the transgender reality TV star.

He then provided a link for people to share their LGBT stories via Organizing for America.

Senior adviser Valerie Jarrett also had words of encouragement for Jenner.
