Obama Follows VA Scandal Soundbites with a Little Sports Tourism

So much for all that “outrage” that President Obama feigned Wednesday. A day after he declined to fire anyone at the Veterans Administration, and a day after the scandal grew to include more than 50 VA hospitals, President Obama is not scouring reports, eliminating VA waiting lists, or meeting with veterans who are victims of the scandal. He is not drawing up a list of actions.

He’s going to Cooperstown.

The day begins with a late morning meeting between Obama and travel industry CEOs. That industry “supports nearly 8 million jobs across the country and is a major driver of our economy,” says the White House.

In the afternoon, Obama will be the first sitting president to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., where he will discuss new plans to encourage international tourism.

Well, that’s…something.
