VA Dem Gov Candidate Terry McAuliffe Promises Joe Scarborough that 'My book will change your love life'

Virginia Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Terry McAuliffe appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe today. His appearance will be remembered for one of the most awkward book promotions in cable news history.

McAuliffe touted his book’s status as a “New York Times bestseller” that’s coming out in paperback, before turning host Joe Scarborough with this sage advice: “Joe, your love life will never be the same.” Co-host Mika Brzezinski cackled, as McAuliffe continued. “It’s also in audio. Eighteen hours of my voice on tape. A little candle, white wine…”

McAuliffe may have reasons to be proud of his success as an author, but as a politician he is running his campaign on making sure that a 47-year-old sexual predator who forced a 17-year-old girl into committing a sexual act against her will only faces misdemeanor, rather than felony, charges.

McAuliffe, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, shows where his party’s head is really at: Putting its fealty to the gay rights lobby ahead of basic law and order and in the way of stopping a sexual predator.
