How Many Law Enforcement Agencies Does It Take To Catch a Naked Man?

It’s not a riddle, just part of the fabric that is weird Austin, Texas. And it turns out that the answer is three.

Midday Thursday, a number of law enforcement agencies came together in pursuit of a man who was on foot, running naked through the streets in East Austin.

Austin Police Department, Department of Public Safety and Travis County Sheriff’s Office chased him to the intersection of Airport Boulevard and State Highway 290 near State Highway 183 before they caught up with him.

The man, who appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, ran into a field where officers found him and put him into a squad car.

Police said he was an emotionally disturbed person.

It’s windy and in the low 40s out there today. Given the cold and the number of law enforcement officers involved, he must be freakishly fast. I mean, it’s not like they had to be circumspect in their approach out of suspicion that he was armed.
