Issa takes Obama to task

In his press conference today, President Barack Hussein Obama continued to make vague assertions that Attorney General Eric Holder knew absolutely nothing about an operation which allowed thousands of firearms across the border into the hands of the drug cartels.

It’s an assertion we’ve called patently false here several times. Today Rep. Darrell Issa, who is leading the investigation into who knew what, when, took Obama to the woodshed:

“President Obama’s remarks today on Operation Fast and Furious were disappointing.  There was no sign of urgency to provide answers or explain why no one at the Justice Department has accepted responsibility for authorizing an illegal gunwalking operation six months after Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s murder.  The American people expect more from the President than unsubstantiated assertions that the Attorney General didn’t know about this reckless program and no explanation about who authorized it.”

This operation cost the life of not just Terry, but Immigration Agent Jaime Zapata and at least 150 Mexican nationals and the guns are now being found in the U.S.

We need to know who authorized this abortion of an operation, we need to know who knew about it, and those people need to be out of the public sector now.
