IBM's 100th Anniversary

To the usual personal computer user, IBM is just sort of an also-ran — we forget that a very large part of the technology we use comes from IBM, even if we’re not using IBM-labeled hardware any more.

Since I work in storage systems in the day job, that’s near to my heart. Here’s a picture of the first 5 megabyte disk drive:
