So Bony Tony Weiner (I just had to say it) found that stage 1 of the play book didn’t work for getting him out of the trouble caused by thinking with his little head.
Stage 1 is, of course, deny deny deny and blame the messenger. Of course trying to blame Andrew Breitbart is a good way to have your head ripped off and excrement shoved down your neck, as happened. Stage 2 failed as well. Stage 2 is admit guilt but apologize, blame bad judgement but refuse to step down, citing the will of the voters.
So what do you do when Stage 2 fails and your own party is calling for you to resign? Well there’s always Stage 3 of the standard Saul Alinsky Democratic Playbook for Party Officials Caught in a Sex Scandal (I’ve seen it, that’s really the name): You ask for a leave of absence, cite some sort of addiction and go into rehab.
Fox News reports that is exactly what’s happened after the entire world found out the Weinerman was tweeting a 17-year-old Delaware girl.
“Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person,” Weiner spokeswoman Risa Heller said in a statement. “In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map out a course of treatment to make himself well.
I’m not sure what Stage 4 is, they took the book away from me before I could read that part. Stay tuned.
