The president's facebook townhall

I watched some of it while writing another post that will go up later. It was a very typical performance by this president in front of a friendly audience. He took every opportunity to go on at length in hopeychange lingo, and took a couple of opportunities to play partisan games with the debt crisis. At one point he described the Ryan plan as “radical” but he never owned up to his own role in amplifying Washington’s extreme spending addiction. I didn’t see any signals that the president is going to get serious. He is in campaign mode now.

I’m sure he wishes every event could be as scripted and easy as this one was. Fortunately, there are still some Brad Watsons out there who will ask this president tough questions, and who won’t allow him to sandbag them with his long and evasive answers.
