Another Senator calls it quits

Nevada Senator John Ensign (R-NV), dogged by charges of infidelity, is expected to announce he will not a third term, Politico just reported.

This means there will be at least eight Senate seats in which there will be no incumbent in the 2012 elections. Without the power of incumbency, it means there is a level playing field and the seat is genuinely open for all takers.
