Poliwood on True Grit

Lionel Chetwynd and I have a new Poliwood on the Coen Brothers’ “True Grit” and the Western genre in general up on PJTV. I have to confess I was a bit bored with TG, well made as it was. Lionel liked it better. Maybe modern westerns are over for me. They can never recapture the excitement of “Red River,” etc. More importantly, we have another Poliwood, shot and coming out for the weekend, on our Oscar predictions. I know many conservatives like to diss Hollywood, the Oscars and everything related (and they’re right) but they do so at their peril. This is our culture. Give it up and you give up the future. (Of course, learning how to make good movies – right or left – ain’t easy.)… Here’s an image from a Western (spaghetti style) that both of us liked.
