Registration marks

I sent this around PJ internally yesterday, but since Glenn has now mentioned it on that other little blog he has, let’s just get this on here.

The famous “crosshairs” in the Palin piece?

That’s called a printers registration mark.

Glenn: Quite a few readers with printing experience email that, technically, they’re “register marks,” not “crop marks.” Okay, but if so many InstaPundit readers know this, why doesn’t anyone covering this for the media know it?

Considering that there will be register marks on pretty much every paper, every day (at least if they’re using four-color process printing, for, say, color photographs) one might well wonder.
