Bill Kristol plays it cute on Olbermann

Over at his Weekly Stan stand, Bill Kristol calls out NBC for hypocrisy for the network suspending Keith Olbermann for campaign contributions: Perhaps Olbermann violated NBC News “policy and standards.” But NBC doesn’t have real news standards for MSNBC—otherwise the channel wouldn’t exist. It’s a little strange to get all high and mighty now.

Well, sure.

But I suspect Kristol is just being a tad cute about the real reason many on the right are urging NBC to “Keep Keith.”  Forget the paltry $2400 campaign contributions, which make about as big a dent in the Megabloviator’s net worth as a pack of bubble gum to a normal person and have an insubstantial political impact anyway.  Olbermann is the gift that keeps on giving to the GOP. Every night the brain dead loudmouth appears on MSNBC he creates an unending flow of new Republicans.  How valuable is that!  Come on, Bill.  Fess up!
