Pamplona and Wall Street: bulls running in two directions

When I was 18 and mastodons still walked the Earth, I ran with the bulls in Pamplona (staying a good fifty yards ahead of nearest toro, mind you).  Even then it seemed like an artifact of another era.  A Hemingway look-alike had ensconced himself at a highly-visible cafe table on the main square and waved to the fans while downing a stiff anise.  He was sort of like the Michael Jackson imitators you used to see in front of the old Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, completely from another era.  The Jackson imitators are now in decline, yet still the bulls run….  Unfortunately, the other bulls have turned tide. Who knows when they will make a comeback?
