Sydney has turned red, literally. A dust storm from inland has created surreal scenes throughout the city.I ran my hand over the counter as soon as it became obvious what was going on, a trick I learned from the day Mount Pinatubo blew and turned day into night from a hundred miles away. No dust was in evidence, unlike the Pinatubo incident in which a literal 1/8th of inch film coated everything. When I shook out my bedsheet you could fill half a sack with fine dust. This is nowhere as bad, but it’s freaking people out. The picture below shows a scene from the city. It literally looks like that.
