Cory Booker (D-Spartacus) looked like a Chesire cat during Wednesday’s MSNBC Democratic debate when Joe Biden (D-Gaffesville) bragged about his black cred.

Ok, that’s not exactly what he said. [I have to say that for the humorless scolds tireless fact-checkers at Snopes, who probably never heard of the legendary Steve Martin.] [Note to fact-checkers: That was a joke too.]
Anyway, no doubt Booker’s comms people are already pouncing on Biden’s claim during the debate that he came “out of the black community…” The former veep quickly added, “…in terms of my support,” but the damage was done.
BIDEN: I have more people supporting me in the black community … the only bla..African-American woman that’s ever been elected to the United States Senate.
BOOKER/HARRIS: That’s not true.

Booker, licking his chops at the prospect that the comment could hurt Biden with African Americans, grinned from ear to ear and exclaimed, “That’s not true!”
But Biden, hoping to be America’s third black president, was actually right on that point, even though the execution came off like an SNL skit: He’s crushing the competition when it comes to black voters. An October Hill-HarrisX poll found Biden with a 24-point lead over his nearest competitor, Bernie Sanders (S-USSR), who came in at 12 percent. Poor Cory was at an embarrassing 5 percent in that poll. For those keeping score at home, that’s in Beto O’Rourke (L-MIA) territory.
Booker’s support amongst black voters is particularly pathetic considering he’s made racial issues a centerpiece of his campaign. This should be his core constituency, but they’re clearly not buying what he’s selling.
Biden, in his opening statement, called for unity, refusing to support jeers at campaign rallies calling for Trump to be locked up. “I don’t think it’s a good idea that we model ourselves after Trump and say ‘lock him up,’” said Biden. “Look, we have to bring this country together. Let’s start talking civilly to people.”
Biden has the right message—one that can appeal to the Blue-Dog Democrats who jumped on the Trump Train in 2016—but he’s clearly the wrong messenger. His highly publicized gaffes have turned him into a joke of a candidate. That said, he still tops the RealClearPolitics average by a LOT, with 30.7 percent of voters backing him. That puts him 12.7 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Elizabeth Warren (Cherokee-Mass.), at 18 percent. Poor Cory clocks in at barely 1 percent support.
Overall the debate—like the rest of the 3,424.5 Dem debates we’ve had to suffer through this year—was a snoozefest. If I had to pick a winner, it would be Tulsi Gabbard (D-Aloha), who looked stunning in a white pantsuit.

It really set off that gorgeous gray streak in her hair and saved us from this awfulness:

Gabbard didn’t come off nearly as crazy as her commie competitors and her voice didn’t sound like fingernails on a chalkboard, which is the best you can hope for with these virtue-signal confabs. An honorable mention goes to Andrew Yang, who highlighted stay-at-home mothers like his wife, most of whom are underappreciated and make huge sacrifices in terms of salary and career advancement in order to dedicate their lives to their children. On the other hand, the real winner may have been the candidate who wasn’t invited to the cool kids’ table debate:
Miss me?
