A Louisiana mother who gave birth to a 14-pound baby boy said she doesn’t plan to have any more children. LaQueena Hunter Grover told WDSU that she was shocked when a nurse told her how big her newborn was. Her first two babies each weighed around 7 pounds when they were born. Her third child weighed in at a hefty 11.9 pounds.

“My husband was like, his mouth just literally dropped,” Grover told WDSU. “He was like, ‘That’s a big baby, Natalie.'”
Loyalty Adonis Grover, born December 6 at Tulane-Lakeside Hospital in Metairie, weighed 14 lbs. 1 oz. when he was born—the size of two average-sized newborns!
When Grover was pregnant with Loyalty Adonis, she suspected she could be expecting more than one baby. “I think that’s twins or even triplets. Maybe they hiding behind one of the babies,” she said.”
She could hardly believe the news when hospital staff told her she was the mother of one very large baby.
“I swear, had I not been on the gurney already, I would have passed out right there when they said that.”
Adonis Loyalty is now just over a month old and weighs nearly 15 pounds. He’s already two feet tall. After spending 27 days in the NICU, he’s finally home with his mother.
According to Grover, he’s in size three diapers already and wears some clothes for 6-9-month olds—and a few even larger. “I put on him some shorts for 18 months,” she said, adding that he has a large personality to match.
“He acts like the Incredible Hulk when he does not get what he wants. He does not like to be wet and he wants to eat as soon as he gets hungry.”

Doctors told Grover that baby Loyalty might someday be “starting for the [New Orleans] Saints or something.”
The good news is that he is perfectly healthy. However, Grover told WDSU that Loyalty Adonis will be her last child.
