A female College Republican was assaulted on Monday night at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. She was wearing Trump campaign apparel on her way to a gathering of presidential debate watchers.

The Minnesota Federation of College Republicans issued this statement on Tuesday:

College campuses are meant to be places of freedom of speech and diverse opinions without fearing for one’s physical safety. In the case we saw last night on Gustavus Adolphus College’s campus, this did not seem to be the case. This is unacceptable.

We expect that Gustavus Adolphus College will come to a resolution on this issue to combat violence on campus towards students with differing opinions. Nobody, regardless of race, gender or political party, should feel unsafe because of the way they look or what they wear when they walk on campus.

A cursory search at the time of this writing finds no mention of the assault anywhere in the mainstream media. We can be assured that, had the victim been a Hillary supporter, it would be a trending national story.
