On Wednesday night, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fell, cracking three ribs and getting rushed to the hospital, the Associated Press reported.

Reports have not confirmed just how serious this fall is.

The 85-year-old justice, a heroine for liberals, has vowed not to retire while President Donald Trump is in office. Since Supreme Court appointments are for life, it is Ginsburg’s right to remain in office as long as she can fulfill her duties.

That said, it would probably be healthy for her to resign. As Denise McAllister noted, this “morbid death watch” is unhealthy.

By the way, this is not the first time Ginsburg has fallen.

When she battled colon cancer in 1999, Ginsburg did not miss a single day on the bench, despite chemotherapy and radiation therapy. During this period, she trained to regain her strength with Bryant Johnson, a former Army reservist attached to the Special Forces. In February 2009, she underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer and returned to the bench later that very month. In November 2014, she had a stent placed in her right coronary artery after experiencing discomfort while exercising at the Supreme Court gym.

Ginsburg has grit and determination, and I only wish she applied that to upholding the plain text and original meaning of the Constitution, rather than toward twisting it to fit liberal  pipe dreams.

In the 2018 midterm elections, Republicans won seats in the U.S. Senate, making future Supreme Court confirmation battles easier.

This report will be updated as further information becomes available.
