Several news outlets are reporting that Sir George Martin, the legendary producer of the Beatles, has died at age ninety. This is from Billboard:
George Martin, the “Fifth Beatle” and British treasure who signed the Fab Four to a label contract when no one else would, produced virtually all their songs and introduced lavish arrangements into “Yesterday” and “A Day in the Life,” has died. He was 90.
All accounts seem to be basing their information on this tweet from Ringo Starr:
Thank you for all your love and kindness George peace and love xx😎✌️🌟💖 pic.twitter.com/um2hRFB7qF

The Hollywood Reporter now says they have confirmed Martin’s death with a spokesperson from Universal Music Group.
It has been an incredibly sad year for the music industry thus far, and it’s only March.
