As Sweden Finally Shuts Doors, Germany Continues on 'Migrant' Suicide Path

As the Swedes react to the invasion of their country by Muslim “migrants,” both legally and extra-legally, German chancellor Merkel stubbornly refuses to admit the catastrophic error of her ways:

Chancellor Angela Merkel vowed on Wednesday to stick to her open-door refugee policy, defying criticism at home and abroad which has intensified due to growing fears about a potential security risk after the Islamist attacks in Paris. Conservative Merkel faces splits in her right-left coalition and pressure from EU states, including France, over her insistence that Germany can cope with up to 1 million migrants this year and that Europe must accept quotas to take them in.

In a 40-minute speech to the Bundestag lower house of parliament, Merkel said the security threat level in Germany was high but insisted that people must carry on with normal life. “The strongest response to terrorists is to carry on living our lives and our values as we have until now — self-confident and free, considerate and engaged,” she said to loud applause. “We Europeans will show our free life is stronger than any terror,” Merkel added, battling with a croaky voice.

No wonder the “conservative” Mutti Merkel and president Obama get along so well.

Just hours before heading to Paris to meet French President Francois Hollande, she said Germany would show solidarity with France after the attacks that killed at least 130 people. Germany, which has since World War Two been reluctant to join military missions abroad, said earlier it is sending 650 soldiers to the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Mali and increasing the number of troops training Kurdish Peshmerga forces in Iraq.

But in addition, Merkel stressed her commitment to her disputed refugee policy, saying Germany, Europe’s economic powerhouse, has a duty to protect those fleeing war and conflict in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. In a nod to critics in her conservative party, especially in Bavaria, where most of the migrants enter Germany, she said that migrants who do not need protection must be sent home. “But simply sealing ourselves off will not solve the problem,” she said.

Oh yeah? Maybe she should ask Hungary‘s Viktor Orban.  Meanwhile, in Sweden, they’re finally crying uncle:

Sweden needs “respite” from the tens of thousands of refugees knocking at its door, the government has said, announcing tough measures to deter asylum seekers in a sharp reversal of its open-door policy towards people fleeing war and persecution.

The country’s generous asylum regime would revert to the “EU minimum”, Sweden’s prime minister, Stefan Löfven, said on Tuesday, revealing that most refugees would receive only temporary residence permits from April. Identity checks would be imposed on all modes of transport, and the right to bring families to Sweden would be severely restricted, he said.

“We are adapting Swedish legislation temporarily so that more people choose to seek asylum in other countries … We need respite,” Löfven said, criticising the EU for failing to agree to spread refugees more evenly around the bloc. “It pains me that Sweden is no longer capable of receiving asylum seekers at the high level we do today. We simply cannot do any more.”

Some Swedes are already voting with their fists:

A tranquil Swedish village has been torn apart by bitter tensions after the arrival of 20 refugee families, MailOnline can reveal. Tärnsjö, 150km north of Stockholm, has become a hotbed of resentment where migrant children as young as five need a police escort to get to school.

Residents and newcomers have exchanged insults, thrown rocks and set fire to cars, leaving many on both sides scared to leave the safety of their homes. Young migrant children living there have had abuse shouted at them and spat at on their journey to school.

But events in Tärnsjö are no longer exceptional in Sweden, which has always prided itself on welcoming refugees with open arms. In the last few months, with 10,000 asylum seekers arriving a week, the country has reintroduced border controls and the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats has become the second largest party in Sweden, opinion polls show.

Instead Tärnsjö, a relatively small village with a population of 1,200, is a snapshot of those places where bubbling anger has spilled over into violence and arson.

And things will only get worse as the boiling frogs of the European nation-states struggle to leap out of witches’ cauldron into which the Euro-elites have tossed them.
