Until recently, this Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) interview on Al Jazeera has been mostly ignored. Now, it has resurfaced. The reason? Some of her remarks were extremely controversial. In a mere 10 minutes, the Democratic congresswoman said that “there is no question” that President Trump is a racist and she said that Americans should be “more fearful of white men” than of radical Islamist terrorists.
“Is Donald Trump a racist in your view?” Al Jazeera’s Mehdir Hasan asked Omar.
“I think there isn’t a debate about whether Trump is a racist,” she answered. “I think he fits into every ism.”
Every “ism,” Ilhan? Racism? Fascism? Communism? Maoism? Impressionism? That statement doesn’t even make sense, no matter how hard she tries to come across as being a progressive intellectual.
After personally attacking the president — to whom she referred to as “Trump,” rather than as “President Trump,” which is his due — Omar went on to insult all white men.
“I would say our country should be more fearful of white men across our country because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country,” she said. “And so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe, Americans safe inside of this country, we should be profiling, monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men.”
In other words, Rep. Omar was actively calling for the monitoring of white men, just because they are white. By their very being white, they apparently pose a security threat in her eyes.
Please note that this is the same Rep. Omar who cries crocodile tears when a fellow Muslim asks her to condemn female genital mutilation (FGM). That is supposedly insulting and demeaning, but calling for the monitoring of all white men? No problem!
