MIC DROP: Trump Blasts 'Dishonest and Corrupt' Democrats, Romney at National Prayer Breakfast

At the 2020 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., Thursday morning, President Donald Trump made a unique entrance when he lifted up copies of USA Today and The Washington Post featuring headlines touting his acquittal on their front pages. His gesture was met with applause from the crowd.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was just feet away from Trump at the time.

Trump wasn’t finished making his point, either. Early in his remarks, he called out those responsible for impeaching him. “As everyone knows, my family, our great country, and your president have been put through a terrible ordeal by some very dishonest and corrupt people. They have done everything possible to destroy us and by so doing very badly hurt our nation. They know what they are doing is wrong, but they put themselves far ahead of our great country.”

Trump also took a thinly veiled shot at Mitt Romney. “I don’t like people who use faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong,” he said, in reference to Mitt Romney citing his own Mormon faith for his decision to vote to convict Trump on charges of abuse of power.

“So many people have been hurt, and we can’t let that go on,” Trump added.

Liberals are already outraged about Trump’s comments, and have expressed that outrage on Twitter. I don’t think they’ve been this triggered since Dr. Ben Carson trashed Obama and his policies during the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast—which ultimately resulted in Carson being audited by Obama’s IRS in retaliation.
