At a campaign event Wednesday in New Hampshire, Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) will crack her gun control whip once more and promise her crowd she is solidly on the gun control train with more gun control plans.

At a presidential campaign event Wednesday in New Hampshire, Harris will pledge to take executive action banning the importation of AR-15-style assault weapons — a move that comes just three weeks after the California Democrat rolled out her sweeping gun-control proposal.

Kamala, who is desperately trying to distinguish herself from the 20+ presidential hopefuls who are virtually identical, is trying to get in the headlines. Who hates the Second Amendment the most among the Democrats? It’s hard to say.

Competition is stiff. Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who is also running for the nomination, has already introduced his anti-2A plans with a whopping 14-part proposal. Fourteen parts! Booker’s proposal is widely considered “the most aggressive” of the presidential lot, according to Politico. The New Jersey senator’s plan includes a “gun-licensing program…among other things, a comprehensive FBI background check and proof of completion of a gun-safety course.” Oh, and a gun suicide prevention plan. Booker is ready to take“the fight to the NRA like it’s never seen before.”

Spicy.

One limitation to Booker’s plan is that it would require congressional approval. Harris isn’t going to bother with all that noise — she has hopes and dreams of using executive authority to cripple the right to keep and bear arms. Politico wants you to know that her “unilateral approach is based on years of inaction in Washington amid repeated high-profile mass shootings — from Las Vegas in 2017 to the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla., in 2016. In both cases, her campaign said, the shooters used assault-weapons made by foreign companies, 4 million of which are in U.S. circulation.” If I have said it once, I’ve said it here a million times: there is no such thing as an “assault weapon.”

Harris claims that “the weapons could be banned because they aren’t ‘suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes.’ This includes all 44 AR-type models listed in the latest assault weapons ban that was introduced in Congress.”

Really? Not suitable for sporting purposes? What does she think all the people who own AR-15s do with them? The AR is one of the most popular firearms on the market. Does she think the owners are stewing in murderous juices, waiting to deploy their “military-style” weapons in a high-profile slaughter?

Harris has said she will also work to make gun trafficking a federal crime, ban high-capacity magazines and bar those convicted of a federal hate crime from buying guns.

Good luck with that Kamala.
