Kudos to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for scheduling a vote on the Green New Deal today. He knows how important it is to get rid of all the farting cows and airplanes ASAP. We only have 12 years left before it’s too late for our planet, so there’s not a minute to spare. We must act immediately, if not sooner.
Unfortunately for Mitch, some of his colleagues are dragging their feet. And the weirdest thing is that they’re the ones who demanded it in the first place!
As the Senate prepares to vote on the #GreenNewDeal, Democrats who lined up to support it are now getting ready to duck the vote.

Either they’re serious about saving the planet or they’re not. Either they want to do something about it or they want to just keep flapping their lips. Which is it?

The Green New Deal, Democrats’ aspirational proposal to confront climate change and address social justice issues, died in the Senate Tuesday.
And Democrats helped slay it.
No senator voted for it; 57 (including all Republicans and a handful of Democrats) voted against it, and the remaining 43 (all Democrats) voted “present” as a protest.
Not a single “Yea” vote. The Dems are all refusing to support the Green New Deal. They want to destroy the planet. And they actually have the nerve to blame Cocaine Mitch for acting quickly to save us all!
Today’s #GreenNewDeal vote is a partisan stunt to side-step needed debate on climate action, and give Republicans cover to put oil lobby checks over our kids. I’ve come to expect nothing less from @senatemajldr.

They all voted “Present.” They’re obstructionists, pure and simple. And they’re too cowardly to put it on the record.
When the planet dies, at some point no sooner than 2031 apparently, remember this day. Remember all the Democrats who had a chance to do something about it and voted “Present” instead.
Sorry, Green New Deal. Sorry, Earth. The Dems don’t care about you.
