Maybe Everybody Should Stop Freaking Out Over MAGA Hats

Every day it seems like there are fewer and fewer places left you can go get a bite to eat without causing a political firestorm. Starbucks is bending over backward to prove they’re not racist. If you try to open a taco truck or a tiki bar, you could get run out of town for “cultural appropriation.” Chick-fil-A? Sure, it’s delicious, but do you really want to encourage the practice of religious beliefs in the United States of America?*

And now you can’t wear a red baseball cap without getting yelled at, even within the carbohydrate-swaddled sanctuary of the Cheesecake Factory.

Ryan Saavedra, Daily Wire:

On Mother’s Day, employees at a Cheesecake Factory in Miami, Florida, verbally attacked and made threatening gestures toward a black man who dined with his girlfriend’s family simply because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat…

The Sunday incident allegedly began at the Cheesecake Factory located inside Dadeland Mall when 22-year-old Eugenior Joseph was seated while wearing his MAGA hat…

…Approximately a dozen or so employees approached the table and began making comments about the hat, with some saying they wanted to punch Joseph in the face. Witnesses also allege that some of the employees also referred to him as a “n**ger” in their conversations among each other.

All because he wore a hat.

Cheesecake Factory HQ has responded, saying: “No guest should ever feel unwelcomed in one of our restaurants and we are taking this matter very seriously.” And the employees responsible for the incident have been suspended, allegedly.

I’m just trying to imagine something like this happening to somebody wearing an “I’m With Her” t-shirt. A lot of people would’ve been pissed off if Hillary Clinton had won (especially Bill), but would the staff at a chain restaurant threaten to kick a customer’s ass for supporting her? Fortunately, we’ll never know.

Nobody has mentioned the race(s) of the Cheesecake Factory staffers who wanted to throw down with a customer in a MAGA hat. But I guess it doesn’t matter, because a black person who doesn’t support Democrats isn’t really considered black. You have to think a certain way, and say certain things, or else you’re out of the club. That’s what happened to Kanye West. That’s what happens to most black people who won’t do what they’re told. I always thought freedom meant freedom, but I guess that’s why I’m a racist.

I’ve never eaten at the Cheesecake Factory, and now I have one less reason to ever go there. (Plus, I recently went keto and it’s amazing. You should try it!) And I have no desire to wear a MAGA hat, but I reserve the right to change my mind and wear one at any time, for any reason. Most likely for reasons of irony. And/or to trigger the libs, of course.

Come to think of it, maybe I’ll start wearing a MAGA hat and an “I’m With Her” t-shirt at the same time, just to confuse everybody.

It’s been 18 months since the election. At some point, America will need to accept the reality of our situation. Trump won. Putin didn’t hack the election, and Fox News didn’t make Hillary say and do all those awful things for the past 30 years. What happened happened. It’s over. This is real. She lost. Get over it.

And to all the MAGA-heads who still throw a fit whenever anybody makes the slightest criticism of Trump:

You won. Get over it.

*Unless the religion is Islam. Criticizing anything about Islam is racist.
