President Obama’s Middle East speech today gave lip service to the ever increasing persecution of Christians in the Middle East.
He mentioned that “Coptic Christians must have the right to worship freely in Cairo” without stating that their churches are being burned and worshipers murdered.
In Iraq, Christians are also being brutalized and their churches destroyed.
He mentioned “freedom of religion” as part of overall Middle East reform, but he needs to speak louder because President Obama is a self-proclaimed Christian and leader of a nation that is 78.4% Christian.
Therefore, is it too much to expect that Obama specifically ask nations to whom the United States provides billions of foreign and military aid to make a special effort to help protect Christians within their borders?
