A surgeon in New Jersey who allegedly shouted for joy at the vicious murder of conservative icon Charlie Kirk has tendered her resignation. The nurse who was handed a suspension for turning him in has been reinstated to her position, according to a statement from the hospital, providing Lexi Keunzle with back-to-back victories.

According to a report from the New York Post, Dr. Matthew Jung of Englewood Health stepped down from his position at the practice after making the celebratory comments just moments after the news broke concerning Kirk's assassination.

A representative from Englewood reached out to the Post, saying, "We have accepted the physician's resignation."

Jung is alleged to have openly celebrated the news of Kirk's murder in front of the nurse's station. When Kuenzle confronted him over the remarks, he doubled-down. She questioned how a person whose job is to save people's lives could ever cheer for a death.

The nurse later took to social media about the confrontation and was immediately suspended. However, the hospital has come to its senses and reinstated her to her position.

Englewood Health's representative told the Post, "The nurse is expected to work her scheduled shifts," before going on to dispute that Kuenzle had been suspended without pay.

“The nurse was never fired; was never told she would be fired by Englewood Hospital; and will not miss any pay as part of our review of this matter,” the representative went on to say. “Englewood Health is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all.”

However, it may already be too little, too late for Englewood, as Kuenzel has already filed a lawsuit in Bergen County Superior Court against the hospital, Jung, and several other individuals, claiming she was wrongfully suspended from her duties.

Some might wonder what Kuenzel hopes to gain by suing the hospital after it already reinstated her. The answer is accountability. For far too long, liberals have been able to get away with egregious behavior against those they disagree with. The slaying of Charlie Kirk is the straw that broke the camel's back.

Many feel it's time to ensure that those on the left realize there are consequences for their actions and that freedom of speech doesn't mean you can just say whatever you want without repercussions. Some might feel this is hypocritical for individuals who have, for a long time, complained about cancel culture.

The difference is, if a medical professional is unhinged enough to celebrate the death of someone he disagrees with politically, who is to say he will provide a patient with those same beliefs the proper level of care he would give a person who is on his side of the spectrum?

It's a matter of public safety. It also could potentially become a matter of public safety in other workplaces too. Plus, freedom of speech protects one from the government attempting to silence your opposition to policies they enact. It does not offer protection from private companies that feel a person's comments do not line up with the values they hold and desire to promote to those in the public.
