And a fat lot of good it is likely to do them:
Members of the National Assembly in France have held a minute’s silence for the 17 victims of Islamist militants in the parliament’s first meeting since the deadly attacks in Paris last week. The MPs sang the national anthem, La Marseillaise. Addressing parliament, the French prime minister, Manuel Valls, described it as a homage to the victims of the attacks.
Because nothing says “total victory against an existential enemy already inside the gates” than a good sing.

According to reports, it’s the first time since 1918 that French lawmakers sang their national anthem in chambers. Let’s hope it has more effect on civilization’s enemies than this famous scene from everybody’s favorite movie, Casablanca:
What finally defeated Major Strasser was a bullet from Rick’s gun. Somewhere, Roland is weeping.
