Yesterday I further enriched the medical profession by undergoing a bit of “minor” surgery (which is an operation they do to you, while “major” is something you do to them) at my local hospital. At a certain point a very nice Irish anesthesiologist appeared to ask the usual questions (what’s your name? what’s your birthdate? etc) and then an unexpected one: “you write for Pajamas Media, don’t you?”

And of course I thought of Reagan in the hospital asking “Any Republicans here?”
In case you’re wondering, I’m fine, no pain, no exciting bleeding, and I can still type (the surgery was for nerve decompression in the right arm)…American medicine is really great.
