Folks, the mainstream media keeps peddling this tired line that President Donald Trump's poll numbers are in the toilet. They act like he's some kind of political corpse, a lame duck staggering through his second term. But there’s something they don’t want you to know.
A fresh poll just dropped a major truth bomb on that nonsense. Despite all the rhetoric about Trump’s collapse in support, Trump has actually hit his highest approval since he took the oath again in January 2025.
It’s true. An InsiderAdvantage national survey of 800 likely voters conducted last week shows Donald Trump’s approval rating basically mirroring or slightly above the national popular vote results in the election of November 2024.
According to the poll, 54% of registered voters nationwide approve of Trump's job performance — the first time in this poll series he's cracked 50% approval. Trump’s disapproval rating sits at 46%. Independents now give him 42% approval, jumping from 35% last month. I’ll take it. Trump’s approval from black voters also hit a record 28%, and among Hispanics, it’s up to 47%. White voters stick with him at a rock-solid 65%. Even kids under 30 are coming around, with 41% approval – double what we saw before. Even the gender gap is narrowing. The poll shows that 58% of men approve of Trump, and 50% of women do.
“After a period of weakness in his approval ratings, President Trump has come back to the 50% level, near to or exceeding his margin of victory against Kamala Harris in 2024,” pollster Matt Towery said in a statement.
ICYMI: AOC Has Instagram Meltdown. It’s a Sight to Behold.
If there is anything we’ve learned from Trump’s first term, or even the 2024 election, it’s that when it comes to Trump and polling, pollsters often fail to fully measure Trump’s support. Soon after Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential election, Kamala Harris led in the RealClearPolitics average for the majority of the final 100 days of the campaign, save for the final couple of weeks, where it was essentially tied, but the final RCP average before the election had Harris up by 0.1 points. As you know, Trump won in a landslide, winning every single swing state.
But, you don’t have to trust this one InsiderAdvantage poll either.
“Other pollsters who also have correctly polled Trump in past election cycles are showing the same upward trend,” Towery explained. “Rasmussen Reports’ approval shows Trump’s approval on the rise as well. Basically it is a combination of ICE raids becoming orderly and strategic and obvious evidence that the economy is actually turning to the positive. While the last government shutdown appeared to hurt Trump’s ratings, this one appears to be actually helping his numbers. There are clearly two camps of pollsters who utilize different methods of data collection and weighting in their approval ratings. But I would note that those firms who most accurately polled President Trump’s three elections use similar methodologies. Basically the country is where it is when Trump was elected. Highly polarized, but at the moment, more supportive of Trump than not.”
Aside from the media downplaying, this poll screams momentum. Trump's not just surviving; he's thriving 13 months in.
