After any tragedy, the left immediately jumps in to push its version of events and push the narrative its wants to make. Saturday was no different after a Border Patrol agent shot and killed an armed anti-ICE agitator obstructing an ICE operation while he was resisting arrest. This whole situation feels like a replay of the Renee Good incident from earlier this month. Despite various video evidence showing her hitting the ICE agent with the car, the left deems the agent a murderer.
Now we've got the same crowd analyzing video of this latest confrontation. The footage shows Border Patrol agents struggling with the armed man who violently resisted their attempts to disarm him. He was shot on the ground after that struggle. People are looking at identical evidence and reaching completely opposite conclusions based entirely on their politics.
What's worse than the amateur forensic analysts are the leftists suddenly waving the Second Amendment as if they've been card-carrying NRA members their whole lives. Democrats are out here insisting Republicans are hypocrites for not supporting an armed activist confronting federal law enforcement. The same people who think “AR” in AR-15 means “assault rifle,” and spent years claiming the Second Amendment applies only to muskets, militias, or hunting, have transformed overnight into constitutional scholars who can explain why threatening a federal agent with a firearm is somehow okay.
Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger jumped right in with commentary that would make any actual gun rights supporter's head spin.
“Well well well. He had a permit to carry after all,” Kinzinger posted on X. “Murder.”
I wish I were joking.
Well well well. He had a permit to carry after all.

Murder
Yes, the permit allows him to legally possess and carry a firearm, but no one is questioning that right. Watch the video and ask yourself: Does a permit to carry make a difference here? It doesn’t. He is literally seen fighting with federal agents on video. Threatening officers with a gun isn’t justified by a permit. It doesn’t give you a free pass to pull a weapon during a confrontation with law enforcement carrying out their duties. The permit doesn’t erase the consequences of your actions, and it certainly doesn’t make brandishing a firearm at federal officers acceptable.
ICYMI: Sen. Kennedy Schools Bill Maher, and I Bet He Hated That
There are countless posts on X making the same point, and it’s astounding how many people are this stupid. The left’s sudden embrace of Second Amendment arguments proves it never actually understood the right to begin with. Carrying a weapon legally doesn’t mean you can threaten or intimidate law enforcement. It doesn’t shield you from arrest or criminal charges. Yet people so desperate to score political points are willing to abandon decades of anti-gun rhetoric in an instant. They don’t seem to care about the facts or about basic civics. They’re not defending gun rights — they’re showing, in real time, that they have no idea what those rights actually mean, or why they exist in the first place.
