Every year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Democrats wrap themselves in King's legacy and act like they're the keepers of his dream. This year was no different.
The official Democratic Party account tweeted, "On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we honor Dr. King's life and legacy and reaffirm our commitment to turning his dream of justice, equality, and economic opportunity for all into a reality for every American."
Rep. Ilhan Omar shared King's famous line about darkness and light.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

I’m thinking of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s words today as we see the immense love our community has for one another, especially in this time of deep injustice.
Pete Buttigieg posted the exact same quote, adding that "Dr. King's message is right on time" and calling on everyone to put his wisdom into action.

As always, Dr. King's message is right on time. Today calls on all of us to hear his wisdom and put it into action.
Sen. Bernie Sanders went economic, sharing a King quote about wealth distribution and poverty.
“If our economic system is to survive, there has to be a better distribution of wealth ... we can't have a system where some people live in superfluous, inordinate wealth, while others live in abject deadening poverty.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

Sen. Ed Markey declared that "justice is under threat right now as much as it has ever been" before invoking King's words about doing what's right.
Sen. Tammy Duckworth warned against silence on injustice.
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Wherever we see injustice in our country, we owe it to each other to never grow numb or falter in our resolve.
We demand accountability.
We demand better. pic.twitter.com/DICa9kxUxz
Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.), the chairwoman of Congressional Black Caucus, posted another quote:
“Let us rise up tonight with a greater readiness. Let us stand with a greater determination. And let us move on in these powerful days, these days of challenge, to make America what it ought to be.”

Happy #MLKDay.
May Dr. King’s shining memory bring light to even the darkest…
The pattern here is clear. Democrats love quoting King, taking his words out of context to fit the narrative they’re pushing at the moment. But there's one King quote you won't see them touching with a ten-foot pole anymore.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I looked for a single Democrat using that quote today. Couldn't find one. Republicans were the only ones sharing it.
This shouldn't shock anyone. Democrats abandoned the idea of judging people by the content of their character a long time ago. These days, they judge everyone by race. It's their entire playbook. Everything gets filtered through the lens of skin color. They've built their identity politics empire on it.
Today's Margolis & Cox cartoon speaks to this point.

Democrats have convinced themselves that racial colorblindness is somehow racist. Why? Because Democrats today paint white people as the great evil. They're more than willing to impugn an entire race, as long as that race is white. They've traded King's dream of a colorblind society for a racial spoils system where everything from college admissions to corporate hiring gets decided by melanin levels.
DNC Chairman Ken Martin even complained about politicians who "ask to be judged, not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character" while supposedly advancing harmful policies. What those policies were, he didn’t say. But even that bogus accusation is not an explanation for why Democrats won’t use the quote anymore.
