I can still remember when Michelle Obama famously declared, “When they go low, we go high,” at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The slogan was meant as a dig at Trump, I guess. I still think about that line, and the way she kept doubling down on it, as if to suggest the Democratic Party’s moral superiority.
"Going low is easy, which is why people go to it," she later told Oprah. "It's easy to go low. It's easy to lead by fear. It's easy to be divisive. It's easy to make people feel afraid. That's the easy thing, and it's also the short-term thing." She added, "For me, what I learned from my husband, what I learned from eight years in the White House, this life, this world, our responsibility in it is so much bigger than us. When I want to go low, it's all about my own ego. It's not about solving anything.... It's about seeking revenge on the thing that happened to you."
It was a bogus narrative then, but one that takes on new meaning today as Democrats repeatedly try and fail to link Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein's criminal enterprise.
Last month, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released cherry-picked emails from Epstein's estate, with the sole purpose of creating the false impression that Trump was involved with Epstein's crimes. They redacted the name of a victim in one email because that victim, Virginia Giuffre, had stated under oath that President Trump never acted inappropriately with her, and that she never saw him with Epstein at any of his homes. Democrats also claimed Trump spent Thanksgiving in 2017 with Epstein, and were forced to delete their post when it was easily disproved. Democrats clearly couldn't have cared less about the truth, just using Epstein as a cudgel against Trump. Rep. Jasmine Crockett literally accused Republicans of taking donations from Epstein, when it wasn't even the right Jeffrey Epstein.

On Friday, the Oversight Democrats released another small set of carefully selected images, which they again treated as a smoking gun against Trump. One picture showed Trump posing with five women whose faces had been redacted. The intent of the photo was obvious: to imply that Trump was photographed with a bunch of Epstein victims, and Democrats pounced.
Vile, disturbing new photos of Donald Trump that raise even more question about knowledge of abuses at Epstein's estate.@OversightDems are demanding the DOJ comply with our subpoena and release the full Epstein files. The image had nothing to do with Epstein.
According to The Telegraph, the women in the photo were "models representing Hawaiian Tropic, the American suntan lotion brand, at an event at Mar-a-Lago" from roughly 1998, and all the models were in their twenties. "One of the women in the Mar-a-Lago photo told The Telegraph the U.S. president was a 'gentleman' who went out of his way to ensure the group enjoyed their evening at his Florida holiday home." Neither Epstein nor Ghislaine Maxwell were reported to be at the event.
Lying about Trump does nothing for Epstein's victims. These repeated attempts by the left to falsely link Trump to Epstein's criminal activity prove there is no low the Democrats won't stoop to. Michelle Obama's high-minded rhetoric about taking the high road rings hollow when her party manufactures scandal after scandal, redacts exculpatory evidence, and deliberately misleads the public about innocent photographs. The Democrats aren't seeking justice for victims. They're seeking revenge against Trump, which is exactly what Michelle Obama claimed her party is against. When you have to doctor evidence and lie about basic facts to make your case, you've already lost the argument. Democrats have shown their hand: they'll do whatever it takes to damage Trump, truth be damned, and Michelle Obama's lofty words mean absolutely nothing when her party keeps racing to the bottom.
